Well, well well!! What can I say? I just can't seem to keep putting updated entries out here, so for now, I'll just let ya'll know I'm in love, and it's mutual! He's an obesity survivor, too -- I met him at our monthly staple club meetings, and we've been keeping each other on track. Since that's rather personal (okay, I know the rest of the stuff I've written is more than just a little personal -- it's been downright in-your-face personal -- but it only involved me!) suffice it to say that my story has a happy ending -- or as I like to think of it, a new beginning!!
We walked (race-walked) a marathon together in February of 2002 (yes, a marathon, believe it or not!!). We trained with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - Team in Training, and we had a goal to raise $3400 (each!!) to be able to participate in the Mardi Gras Marathon on February 17th 2002. We did it, too (note added 2004)
Anyway, we're both race-walking in this marathon (and believe me, race-walking is HARD -- and so is the training), and we're using this to try to get back into (? - or just into) shape. Someday, maybe, I'll have a panniculectomy (apron removal and tummy tuck), and maybe even a boob job -- but since that possibility is probably at least a year or two away, I won't keep you in suspense with pending updates. This is it for a while. If I get any better pictures, I'll post those on my progress pictures page. But for now, suffice it to say:
Sleeping Beauty has been kissed by her prince, and plans to live happily (and healthily) ever after.
The End...

P.S. from 2008: Yes, I had the panniculectomy (in 2003, after having had several emergency -- due to bowel obstructions -- hernia surgeries); but now besides having a flat stomach with the muscle double-meshed (and I haven't had a hernia since), my entire stomach (a section about the size of a dinner plate) is numb -- and I don't have a belly button anymore! I've gained weight back (I'm back to 280 lbs from a low of 220; and 250 before the panniculectomy), but thank God, still healthy. So, bottom line, I'm very happily married and loving life, but getting this surgery doesn't make you skinny -- only diet and extercise will do that!
